Music

When you visit UMCWV, we want you to feel right at home as soon as you walk onto our campus. Here’s what you can expect:

Parking
The parking lot has entrances off Westlake Blvd. and off Hampshire Rd. Follow the signs to the area just outside the patio and main entrance. It includes handicap-accessible spaces near the patio.

A Warm Personal Greeting
Pastor Gary Dickey and/or one of our Welcoming Team members will greet you outside the entrance on the patio before the service begins. Everyone is warmly welcomed. During the service, at the designated time, if you will  raise your hand and let us know you are a first time visitor, a coffee mug and guest information will be brought to you where you are seated.

Finding Your Way
The sanctuary is to the left as you approach the patio. If you are looking for the nursery, toddler room, Sunday School classrooms or the restrooms, our pastor or greeters will be glad to direct you. We have signs on the buildings to guide you as well.

Child Friendly
We want your child to have the best possible experience while in our care. Adults will care for your child while you attend Sunday School or Worship. Our childcare workers and volunteers are loving, competent people who truly enjoy their ministry of being responsible for your child during this time.

A limited number of pagers are available for parents who wish to use them. Health and Safety Guidelines are outlined in a Welcome to the Nursery & Toddler Room pamphlet.

The Nursery is for children 0-2 years and is available during the 9 and 10:30 a.m. worship services. (Older children go to their age-appropriate Sunday School classrooms at 9 a.m.) The Toddler Room (Rm. 4 in the Christian Education Building) is for 3-4 year olds during the 10:30 a.m. service.
Every United Methodist Church has a Safe Sanctuaries Policy “to demonstrate
our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth of all of our children and youth.”

Staying Informed
Our main lobby (narthex) and Information Stand contain brochures with current ministry materials and information about upcoming events. The church also publishes a monthly newsletter, The Covenant, which includes a calendar and is mailed to members and others who desire to receive it.

A Comfortable Environment
We strive to provide an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming. People come in a variety of clothing styles, from casual sports shirts, jeans and sneakers to coats and ties, skirts or pants – whatever you prefer is fine. Our sanctuary is air conditioned for your comfort.

A Weekly Order of Service & Announcements
Our ushers will give your this “bulletin” when you arrive. In it you will find ample information to guide you through the worship service, as well as information about current program activities.

Open Communion
Communion is open to all and is served every week during the 8 a.m. service and usually the first Sunday of the month at the 9 and 10:30 a.m. services.

Coffee Cart & Munchies
Following the service, we invite you to have a cup of coffee and meet people on the patio. The youth also have donuts available for a nominal donation. Other snacks and goodies are provided between 10-10:30 a.m. on Hospitality Sunday (usually the second Sunday of each month).

Friendly Follow-up
If you provide your name, address and phone number in the red pew register, you will receive a follow-up contact from the pastor with an invitation to join us again!
